EXCLUSIVE: Lana Huckaby, who now works under the stage name Summer Fox, left her job as a police officer to return to her earlier career as a Live Cams model. In an exclusive interview with the Daily Star, she shares the reasons behind her unexpected career shift and what led her to make this significant change.
Lana Huckaby, at 31 years old, realized her childhood dream by becoming a police officer with Hertfordshire Constabulary. From a young age, Huckaby was determined to fight crime and help others. She explained, “Since I was about eight years old, I wanted to be a police officer. My goal was to make people feel safe and secure and to tackle crime.”
However, Huckaby’s time on the police force was not what she had anticipated. “I was excited about the idea of catching criminals and dealing with high-action situations,” she said. “But in reality, my job involved a lot of traffic calls and domestic disputes. It wasn’t as thrilling or as action-packed as I had hoped.”
Huckaby also encountered financial issues that contributed to her decision to leave the police. “The pay wasn’t as good as I expected,” she said. “The financial rewards were not enough to make up for the less exciting aspects of the job. I missed the flexibility and the financial benefits of my previous job.”
Before becoming a police officer, Huckaby worked as a webcam model. Her sergeant was aware of her past job, but this background sometimes led to uncomfortable situations. “There were a few times when people recognized me from my work in webcamming during my police duties,” she recalled. “It was awkward, and I felt self-conscious about it.”
These experiences, combined with the reality of her police work, led Huckaby to reconsider her career path. “I decided that I wanted to return to webcamming,” she said. “I missed the flexibility of being my own boss and the better pay that came with it. The opportunity to control my own schedule and earn more money was very appealing.”
Huckaby now embraces her role as Summer Fox in the Live Cams industry. She has found that the skills she developed during her time as a police officer are useful in her new job. “In my current role, I often help people by offering advice and support for their personal issues,” she explained. “The listening and counseling skills I learned as a police officer are very helpful. It’s similar to how I used to mediate and help people resolve their problems when I was on the force.”
